Ruth Luzmore - Committee Chair
Ruth joined the governing body as a Co-opted Governor, bringing with her over twenty years of experience in state education, including many years as a Primary Headteacher in London.
Now working in higher education, Ruth is a researcher and lecturer in educational leadership at the University of Southampton and the National Institute of Teaching and Education. She also mentors senior school leaders, drawing on her extensive experience to support the next generation of educators.
Ruth is passionate about early years education, believing it to be one of the most formative and important stages in a child's life.
Christopher Sermon - Vice chair
Chris has been with us some years, initially as a parent Governor and currently as a co-opted Governor; having previously served for eight years as parent governor at Western Primary School.
Now retired, Chris is a Chartered Accountant specialising in financial regulation and customer protection. Born and brought up in Winchester, Chris trained initially in London (including a year at the Bank of England) moved to Hungary for five years, then worked throughout Central and Eastern Europe before settling down back in Winchester.
He has two children, both of whom are currently studying at university.
